Understanding the Hair Growth Cycle

Today, we’re going to take you back to science class… We’re learning about hair cycles!

It’s important to understand how hair grows naturally, so that you can have a clearer picture on the science behind Zenagen and why it works so well, especially when it comes to our Evolve system.

So let's dive into Hair Cycles 101.

Anagen: The Growth Phase

The first and longest stage of the hair growth cycle is the anagen phase. During the anagen phase, your hair follicles begin growing new hairs. This phase can last anywhere from 3 to 7 years. It’s the most important phase in the cycle for promoting thicker, faster growing hair, because if you don’t have a good environment for growth, that long cycle will only grow thin hair, giving a less dense appearance over time.

Evolve lengthens this stage (demonstrated below) which results in more hair follicles in the anagen phase at once and for a longer period of time.

Catagen: The Transition phase

The second phase is called catagen. This is a short transitional phase that lasts about 10 days. During the catagen phase, the hair follicles shrink, and the hair detaches from the follicle but remains on the scalp for the remainder of this phase.

Telogen: The Shedding Phase

The third and last phase is Telogen. This is where the shedding happens. Some scientists have broken this phase into two; telogen and exogen. During this phase, the follicle begins to form a new hair that will then push the old hair, causing it to shed.

What makes our Evolve line so unique, is that it helps in the appearance of thicker, fuller hair by reducing the resting (catagen) and shedding (telogen) phase of the hair growth cycle, while simultaneously increasing the growth (anagen) phase! It is able to manipulate the stages of the growth cycle using natural ingredients, so that your hair can appear longer, stronger and faster!

Taking Care of Your Hair

There are ways to take care of your hair during each of these stages. Part of this is choosing the right shampoo. It also repairs and strengthens the hair, for shinier, less damaged hair over time.

However, if you are experiencing excessive hair loss, due to any reason, then Revolve is the way to go. Revolve targets hair loss directly and will lead to thicker, fuller hair. For more information on choosing the right shampoo read “Which Zenagen Product is Right for Me”.

Alright, guys. Class dismissed!
